{March} Ten on the tenth

5:30 am {Yawn}.
I'm up to read my Bible and have some quiet time, but when I see the piles of clean, but unfolded laundry in front of me I realize that I need to jump in to this.  I use my app to read to me while I get the boys' clothes ready for the day.

Annnd, they're up.  It's reading month spirit week, and today is "dress like an artist day".  So - Dash from the Incredibles.  Obviously.

Dave got the oldest two to the middle school, now it's my turn to get the littles off to the elementary school.   Gurt the penguin goes with us every day.  Noe may be 10, but he is pretty attached to this penguin that my mom made him.

Got my run in at Dave's dorm.  It's spring break for the students and everything is empty,  so I can basically use whatever I want over there. ;)  My face shows you how much I loved this part of my day...

I'm in my van *alot* every single day.  My sweet little solar dancing sunflower makes me smile as I taxi around.

Bonus points if your snack matches your tablecloth. ;)  Aldi for the win.

Work.

First pick up done. Homework time until the littles are out.

They have an hour wait between when they are done and their brothers are done.  So when someone offers you a phone, you don't even care if it's pink.

We met with our small group tonight.  If you have people in your life - you know, the ones you can call at any hour of the night and the ones you can laugh your head off with and bawl your eyes out with? -  Then you are counted among the richest.  We are blessed.   Great way to end out our night.

{February} Ten on the Tenth

My life is an adventure. ;)

6:00 hour - (Hello Friday, hello delicious cinnamon apple walnut oatmeal, hello sleepy little boy in the background)

7:00 hour - (Gettin' ready for another day in first grade)

8:00 hour - (Egg loot for the day)

9:00 hour - (Best .79 ever spent.  Smells SO good.  Meijer clearance makes me grin)

11:00 hour - (Bummed he has "the crud" and has to stay home from school, but secretly loving extra special one-on-one time with my Jay)

12:00 hour - (Fulfilling his request for cheese quesadilla)

2:00 hour - (First thing he does when he bursts through the school doors.  Worlds fastest pick pocket, I think)

5:00 hour - (Driving him to winter camp.  Deep conversation. Oh - and this was at a stop sign with no traffic around...) ;)

6:00 hour - (Dropping them off for overnights are always just weird for me. )

7:00 hour  -(Some heroes wear capes, some wield portable air tanks...)

{October} 10 on the 10th

Getting ready to drive the two youngest to our elementary school.  This time of year we are greeted by BEAUTY when we step out the door.  Takes my breath away. Thank you God!

When I downloaded 10-10 pics from my phone - I saw this.  My finger was right over that delete button when I realized this actually is a fairly accurate representation of life right now.  ;)

So what if it was an accidental photo that I didn't even know I took. Here it is.

A blur.  But a blur of light and color.

A routine visit to U of M.  Best Neurologists ever.

Waiting.  And waiting.  And realizing that my U of M visitor sticker matches my LuLaRoe leggings. ;) it's the little things....

And back to the middle school and elementary school for a van full of cuties.

So, this picture... ;) Oh you guys.  Since our day was different than our normal routine,  and it was really packed, and I am a little too scattered....

I brought K to occupational therapy without socks and shoes.

I am officially "that mom".

Thank you Lions.  {!!}

Thank you Papa John's.

Thank you husband.

Ham and mushroom + Ham and pineapple.  My favs. ;)
Enjoyed by all.
And goodnight.

{August} 10 on the 10th

August 10th, 2016

Awoke this morning and was informed that Kai's beloved Teddy was turning 23 today.  Who knew?!

Balloons were a must.  Kai grabbed the helium tank out of the photo studio and got to work...

While mom had an already much needed cup of coffee.

What's birthday without cake?

All the leftover sprinkles in the pantry - mostly from Christmas - were the finishing touches.

How cool that we already had plans to go to our friends house. NOW it's a party!

Finishing the day with a half mile run with my Jay!

{April} 10 on the 10th

It's been exactly a year and a month since I participated in this photo challenge!  Time to jump back in.  It's always so fun to document a day - even a mundane day - because it helps me look for the lovely things.

This was a Sunday spent at home.  Half the fam went to church and I had 2 guys at home with me.  We have been fighting a crazy strep battle with our Noe.  He's had it for three weeks and 2 rounds of separate antibiotics.   We kept him home for rest and for lovin'.

I prayed throughout the day for joy and for eyes that see lovely.

{This is what 10 on 10 is all about: taking a photo every hour for ten consecutive hours on the tenth of each month, documenting a day in your life and finding beauty among the ordinary moments.}

Noe's sore throat meant breakfast in the blender.  K and I also participated. :)

I'm obsessed with candles.  I burn them all the time.  I love making the house smell welcoming and homey - and like fresh pumpkin pie.  Ironically I have found one of my favorite brands at Tractor Supply.

Hi.  Blah day, no fixin' up selfie.

Yes please.

Starting prep for a yummy family meal.

That grin can usually be found behind any manner of Apple product. ;) I love this teenager so much.

Home sweet home for the day.   Praying over this one - letting him play the Wii to distract him from his discomfort.  Hoping to get him well again soon!

Done - and ready to be enjoyed by all.  The other half of our family is home with us now.

Screen shot.  I just had to throw this in here too.  For memories sake...

Dave's uniforms all washed, dried, and ready for the week ahead.   He's been home for 9 days.  Nine beautiful rare days.  I may have blinked back big ol' tears as I prepped the uniforms.

One more story before bed time.  He read the entire thing by himself.  He's turning into such a big kid.

{February} 10 on the 10th

This is what 10 on 10 is all about: taking a photo every hour for ten consecutive hours on the tenth of each month, documenting a day in your life and finding beauty among the ordinary moments.

My day started at 5:45. And I put my running shoes on immediately. Because I had to work hard to trick my mind into being ready to jump into this day.

And indeed, it was a crazy morning. All boys seemed to wake up grumpy. Working on maintaining my joy was work. Many Deep Breaths...

Somehow we made it out the door in time. After school drop off, I met my trainer at the track. And did my first real cardio work out since... maybe spring? Early summer? Ugghhh. At one point I thought she was going to have to scrape me off the track.

I didn't die. But this is the moment when I realized that the weird feeling in my head and stomach after my work out wasn't all just the fact that I hadn't done cardio in several months. But alas, through the crazy - I had forgotten breakfast.

Oops. My life......

So, this.

It helped.

Then after picking up Kai - this.

And prepping valentines with the baby.

Noe and Jay are participating in some after school activities on Tuesday afternoons, so daddy and K get some "solo time" while they waited for pick up.  Those smiles!!

They all arrived home a little after 5. Jay's karate is at 6, so I didn't get to see much of him. Also, he was pretty unhappy with me most of the day. If you can't tell.

Winding down our day with some cuddles
