Mali turns 10

Dear Malachi,

So here we are. A decade down the road from the day you joined us.

It's hard to fathom.  During that time, of cuddling your sweet tiny body and waking up with you in all hours of the night,  a ten year old you seemed so remote.  So hard to imagine.  As you made your little baby squeaks next to my bed and I was fully entrenched in the new born stage I could not even picture what this stage of your life would be like.

But now I know.  Now I really know you.
Who you are and what you love.
What sends you into rage and what calms you.
I know your endless amounts of energy, that if not satiated will have you bouncing off everything.
I know your strong work ethic and your desire to help.  I love that.  I love who God is making you to be and just pray hard that you will pursue that the most.   - Not your energy, not the things you desire and love, not even hard work.  Those are all good.  But ultimate are the plans God has for you.  The ones he had in mind for you when he knit you together.  Before you breathed your first rush of earth side oxygen. He put some very special gifts in you and it is our hope that we will nurture those things in you well!

Things  you currently love: anything and everything active. Trampoline,  scooter,  bike.
Shooting your BB gun and bow.
People.  Going to peoples houses,  seeing people,  people coming over.
Video games + silly Or informative YouTube videos.
Tinkering with stuff and dreaming of a mini bike rebuild or go cart project.
Camo.  All things camo.
Music.  Especially newsboys and Toby Mac.
Food. Breaded/fried General Tso’s.  Tacos,  spaghetti and meet balls, ice cream.

I love that you aren't afraid to try new things. Your adventurous spirit is fun.
Thank you for working hard in 4th grade and for reaching out to those at school who otherwise may not be noticed.  Thank you for always being ready to jump up and help grandma and grandpa when a need arises.

I can see some new things in you this year.  Standing on truth more and more.  being more adaptable. More self control.  Still plenty to work on - ;)  as always.... but you are growing and maturing!

You are our precious last born and will always be valued and treasured by us.

Happy 10!!

Love,
Mom
