{sometimes she rants}

So, guess what? In my home,
for my heart,
based on my convictions,

I am one woman who will be married to one man, until death do we part.

I can't judge hearts. I do believe that the Bible is 100% truth. Absolute truth. I'm really big on personal responsibility. When I went to the True Woman conference in Indianapolis last September there were circles marked on the floors all over in the conference center. We learned early on in the weekend that those were prayer circles and that we were to stand in the closest one we could find, praying, "Lord, change our hearts, let revival come to this nation, and let it start in this circle.

So, let me repeat: In my home,
 in my heart,
on display here,
my marriage is between a man and a women, seeking God, committed to stay together, through alot of crap, for life.

I believe that the most important thing we can do here is to dig our heels in, set our eyes on the horizon, and practice what we preach. When we as women begin to love our men in a way that truly represents God and His church, perhaps we will make the impact we wish to see.

I believe one of the worst thing we can do is spew a bunch of reactionary words - thinking we can change the world (news flash: no one has ever changed the world via strong and divisive words thrown around on facebook. fyi), while treating our own marriages as disposable.

Husband bashing in your Bible study group at church? Watching your "show" on tv that devalues men or glorifies sin?  {I've done both, and then felt the sting of remorse like salt in a deep cut}Then shut your mouth on the "issues" you feel so strongly about. Make it known by your actions. Make it known by your life. Make it known by your marriage. What are you going to do that speaks to the world? How is your light going to shine? How are you going to impact the darkness?

John 16.

33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Guess what? Trouble. Not maybe, but yes, yes you will have trouble.

{Expect it. Have PEACE in the midst of it. That is how they will know God is in us!}

Let's not forget that He has overcome the world. That may not mean right now. Like, "right now - let's wield our tongue-swords and "overcome" the evil in the world."

How about, "Right now, right now I will live a life that reflects Jesus. I will SHOW the world what it looks like to live according to the Bible. I will love my husband in a radical way."

It means we look forward with hope to a day when all is right again.

That day is NOT now. That day is surely coming.

God has good ideas y'all. His original plan has purpose and reason. He is a God of order, and his commands are not just good ideas. They are for our protection. They are for the protection of generations to come. I grieve for those who take a monumental departure from God's best, but my stand will be for the things God stands for.

My goal is to take a stand by loving my husband and purifying my mind.
And mostly, I will fix my eyes on that which is to come.
My hope is in heaven. My hope is in Jesus. My hope will never be in Washington.
The end.

Thank you for this. It's refreshing and calming to hear a voice of self-reflection which doesn't judge or condemn.
I have friends on both sides of the argument, and sometimes I fear opening up the internet because what comes out of some people's keyboards is just horrible!
Your advice for us to "become the change we wish to see in the world" (to quote Gandhi)is very apt.
Thank you!

Thank you for the refreshing and uplifting words. It's nice to know that there are still women fighting for their Godly marriages!
