My mama + a crochet hook

A couple of months ago I emailed my mom a link to a crochet pattern for a sweater

and asked if she thought she could make it for my birthday.

In her typical response she kindly let me know that she would try it,  but she stated that she likely wouldn't be able to do it, because she is just not that good… etc…etc…

I totally knew better than that. She is humble, but she is oh-so-creative and skilled with the crochet hook.

Today I got it in the mail and squealed in delight. That lady….

She totally outdid herself this time.

The most amazing part to me is that the fit is incredible - and I wasn't actually ever physically with her while she was in the process of making this!

She emailed me for measurements once, and I got the message really early one morning. I was tired and couldn't find my measuring tape anywhere. I finally came up with a small piece of ribbon, and one of the boys broken rulers. ;) I'm pretty sure that the measurements I sent her were way off, due to that. But seriously… it is like I was right there with her when she was making it, and every inch of it was tailor made to my body type. What an incredible mama I have!!

This is an awesome and versatile sweater! So many ways to wear it.

Thanks mom!! You are the best! (And I still think you should open a shop)

Wow! It's sooo adorable! My youngest sister is doing a crochet class/project for her homeschool 4-H! I am going to share this with her so she's encouraged that some great things can come out of crocheting! Oh and by the way, tell your mom she did a fabulous job!!! ;) ~Carrie
