{His Birthday}

He means the world to me. In honor of his special day I want to try to impart just a bit of how amazing he is. I say 'just a bit' because words would fail to ever convey the extent of his remarkable character.
Dave wrote this a few years ago when he was challenged to consider a clear direction and vision statement for his family. A copy of this in on our refrigerator and we see it daily. When I read it for the first time I do believe I fell in love with him all over again. :)
Our Vision Statement
I will strive to be daily seeking God's will for my life
I will strive to love my wife the way that Christ loved the church
We will strive to love our children
By loving our children we will discipline them and teach them of God's love
As a family we will strive to be active in our local church so we can be an encouragement, as well as being encouraged by others.
We will seek to serve God with our lives, whether being a full time godly example in every day life, or being in full time Christian ministry
We desire to raise a family that will impact the world for the cause of Christ
We can do none of this on our own, but only through the power of God in our lives when we choose to submit to His will
He's really special! He is not super human and certainly struggles with all the normal daily life issues that every one else does. It is for that reason that I am so proud of him. When things get tough, he has been willing to fight for all that is good and right. I love him for so many reasons but really respect him for those moments when he has chosen to pass up the easiest path for the best path.
Happy 36 baby!
