I can feel it...

This year is going to be vastly improved for our men's soft ball team! Last year Dave and a friend of his took on the challenge of coaching our church guy's softball team. Dave loves the game, but has had his moments of discouragement. The number of losses have greatly surpassed the wins. Here's the cool thing: We have a fantastic group of guys who all have unique talents on the softball field. Last year was a year of change. It was a beginning that had to be built upon. We had alot of good players, but the team aspect was a bit lacking. Last night, at the first game of the season, I already saw incredible progress.

If your laughing right now because you know the cosmic lack of expertise I posses on the subject, go ahead. :) It's true, I may have come from a very nonathletic family and didn't grow up watching or playing any sports, but guess what... I really like it! I'm getting there! My janitor is so sweet and patient as we watch sports together and he explains things over and over to me.

So, I may have been a little distracted by this...
(Yes, that is a snowsuit on Noe. It was freezing last night! We saw a sign that said "Warm up area", but seriously, it was just as cold over there. I was so bummed.)

And this...

(What kind of a mom would bring her boy to the game in his nice black school pants, knowing full well that the dirt is in abundance and it will be played with?! Somebody needs to tell her a thing or two.)

And this...

(Awww! Daddy is Jay's hero!)

But I still noticed that the guys played a game they should be proud of! I hope it was as fun as it looked.

(Seriously people, T-ball here would do just about any thing to catch that ball. He had a horrifying run in with the fence last night, but he is an unstoppable ball catching machine. The fence lost.)

You guys rock! I don't know how much Pastor W's wardrobe choice had to do with it, but y'all did great. It may not have been a win on the score board, but it's so cool to see you guys working together. I'll be the one screaming the loudest for your victories and chasing the three little boys every Tuesday night (seriously couldn't have done it with out you Mrs. Pastor W). Can't wait to see how much fun you all are going to have this season!

You make me so sad! The joke about the warm up area!!!! You have seriously been infected with by the janitor's family's sense of humor! You have left me for the dark side :-)
(I am curious how many non-family readers actually caught that "joke")
I am glad you all enjoyed the game!

Okay I didn't get the joke til I read Sarah's comment. I was sitting here thinking... "Warm up area they must have added that! I don't remember a warm-up area." You guys are so funny!

Good luck with the softball! Don't forget the secret of "More Power!!!"

Are these word verifications getting longer or is it just me. I think next time they are going to have me write a whole sentence!

Hey Wendi! Yeah, hopefully I do better at keeping up with this blog! I can't even get into our other one! I'm due June 16th, but Morgan came 2 weeks early, so he could be here in about 5 weeks! I'm not quite sure I'm ready, but ready or not, here he comes!!! We'd love to see you guys again and catch up someday!

Go team, go!!!
And I would love to know who had more fun - the players or the kids in the dirt?!?! I would chose playing in the dirt...

OK, the pictures so make this post. Not that your writing isn't great. :-) I hope your team does well. I once played one game for my husband's grad school intermural softball team (I was a sub). They were a bunch of grad school guys in their 30's matched against 18-22 year-olds from the ROTC team that night. We lost something like 33 to 0. And my running from the ball surely didn't help matters.

It makes me itch just seeing all the dirt, but with boys there is no escape.

I'm not sure where your located but my daughter had a softball scrimmage last night and I was grimmace faced and angry, wrapped in a blanket all night! We should NOT be wearing winter attire for baseball! I'm glad my munchkins have lots of energy so they ran around to keep warm.

p.s. My husband plays softball for church too and our team doesn't ever play well either.
