See you next week!

I am up early preparing for our trip to see my family. I can hardly wait to see them all! It has been 4 months since we have seen them.
There is so much to do - alot to think of when traveling with three little ones! :) I am trying get things packed while the guys in the house are still sleeping. There was so much excitement yesterday that they were just exhausted! Now in my preparations for our trip I also have a whole bunch of new treasures to put away. :)
Even though there is much to do, I wanted to sit down and write a quick blog post as I won't have opportunity to do so for a while. We won't be back home until late on January 2nd.
Yesterday was a mixture of excitement, over indulgence in sugar, smiles, chaos, hugs, moments that seemed to have jumped out of a cancelled sitcom, and a whole lot of tired! That's Christmas for ya isn't it. :)
All of our boys were very pleased with their grandma's generosity yesterday. Her gift choices for them were so perfect for each one. Although they each received things that captivated their interest greatly, I have one boy in particular who was over the moon excited with his gift.
My Jay got his drum set, which he has been wanting for months. And yes, it was with mommy and daddy's permission. :)
I will leave you with the cake creation that Dave made to celebrate Christ's birth with his family. Love to you all!

At my house, we always have a Happy Birthday, Jesus cake with candles, and we all sing. When my grandchildren got into their teens, I suggested stopping it. They protested loudly that it was TRADITION and we could not stop. (Warms a grandma's heart.)

Did you get ear-plugs with the drum set? :)

Oh my word, seeing that drumset brought back a rush of memories - my little brother got a very similar set when he was just a little older than Jay, and he was in heaven. How very cool - did you get it on video when he first realized what it was?

Dave is super talented with his cake decorating skillz. :) Where did he learn all that? What a fantastic tradition.
