"Mainstreaming", fall colors, and a birthday
All of that? In one post? Yes, it's a post of many facets.
K is now officially "mainstreamed" into the educational system. :) Mainstreamed. What an interesting word. Brings to mind all kinds of weird word pictures that I don't have time to type because I have to get ready to go get pictures taken. Basically what it means is that for the first time K is not attending a preschool for development delayed children. He is now in a preschool for your average child. Ha! Are they in for some surprises. :) Yesterday was his first day of preschool for the year. It is actually his third year of preschool and we very much wanted him in kindergarten this year. Due to many factors, that did not work out and we are actually super pleased with his placement now. God tends to work that way. K is not very forthcoming on giving us information about what goes on at school. It's like he finally knows some thing that mom and dad don't, so why in the world would he give that power up? We ask him about it and he gets a twinkle in his eye and says "It was good." That's it. I want ALL the details! At least he seemed happy after his first day. He is very adaptable and social, so I wasn't really worried.
As most of you know I love fall! I have loved the cooler weather, crisp fresh fall scent in the air, and crunch of leaves that is already beginning to delight me. All of these things are great, but by far my favorite part of fall is the amazing colors! Love them. To go along with the season I am celebrating fall with fresh hair color. Oh, and guess who did it for me?? You get one guess and two hints: He's a janitor and he just saved himself $65. :) He did an awesome job by the way. It is actually my God given natural hair color - we matched it to the new growth underneath which has never been touched by man made chemical. :) Now I am wondering why I ever messed with a good thing before. I love my dark brown hair color! Every summer I get this weird compulsion to get blond highlights. They are okay, but I really need to trust the ultimate artist who gave me dark brunette hair. He really does know what he is doing. Lighter hair doesn't work for me as well with my really light skin and green eyes. So - loving the new/ real hair color! :)
As I close I must wish a very happy birthday to a special lady! Who couldn't love the woman who raised the guy who is man enough to color his wife's hair?? Happy birthday mom! And thanks for being willing to come over SO early to watch the boys so that those silly doctors can take numerous pictures of my kidneys. What can I say - They must be cute little things! Maybe I can be a kidney model when I grow up...

Try not to worry about K; pray for his teacher--hopefully she is properly trained, so pray that she'll show love as she guides.
Your hair is gorgeous! God gave me a nice color too, but that nasty old AGE has decided to change it! Hmrph! Well, I fooled AGE and have been coloring it myself, close to the color that God dictated. I got a cut this past week with a new hairdresser, and she admired my color! Whoa! (God and me: we're a team!)
Hair looks gorgeous. So glad you are feeling better!
great hair color! i wouldn't mind my natural color so much if i didn't already have SO MUCH GRAY. Seriously. When i was about 23 I was already over 10% gray...I'm 30 now...do the math. HAHAHA
the hair looks great...praise God for Janitors! :-)
I love the hair color, I need to get mine colored and I always do it myself. What color did you use? If I may ask!
I LOVE your hair color. That is the color I wish mine was naturally. It looks great:)
I love the hair color too! It looks really close to my natural color too :)
Hi, I clicked over from Angela's blog. I have enjoyed reading on your site. You have some beautiful and amazing children. Blessings.
definitely praying for k in this new adventure...and for you, momma! lovin' the hair...and happy birthday to your mom!
I recently decided to let my hair go natural. As I approach '50' only 45 days away, I am finding my grey is actually nicer than the high/low lights I have been putting in. AND, it is WAY cheaper.
I love your darker hair.
I'm so excited for you and K as to his placement. Having children who were NOT mainstreamed I sure love when schools get it right and do all they can to mainstream them.
This should be a great year for him.
Blessings, Cindy
Mental hair cut/color debate going on here. Crazy tempted to cut it all off again, but it just finally is grown out. Also, love highlights, hate regrowth.... You know me!
Love your color, love even more that your Dave is not so macho to do such a favor. Hope you will uncover some of the mysteries that lie behind the closed school doors. I am trying to also be enlightened in that area as well.
Thanks for stopping by :o) I love your hair color - very befitting for fall!
Well, aren't you so blessed, to have a hubby that would do that for you?? I'm too cheap to go have it done professionally, but the gray is slowly but surely sneaking up on me. Your hair looks incredibly rich and warm, perfect for this fall weather!
SO glad to hear K is adjusting well. I find it hilarious that he's withholding info on his day...that must make him feel a little extra important! :)
Lovely little place you have here! And your boys...ADORABLE! Im so glad you came by!
Love your hair by the way it's gorgeous!
God Bless
wendi,
i love your hair; your hubby did an excellent job:D i also love that k is enjoying school and has little sweet secrets he's keeping to himself (too cute;).
i hope your mother in law had a fabulous birthday and that you are having an equally fabulous day, today!!!

dani
Yeah for K! Glad school went okay for him. And your hair color is gorgeous - I'm jealous!
Love the hair color.
I need to get mine colored soon... The grays are becoming more and more common. So sad...
