The one where I shamelessly solicit sympathy

Have you ever wondered what someone looked like who felt awful, has not slept more than a few hours in 48, spent a morning in the ER, passed a kidney stone, could not keep down as much as an ice chip for 7 hours, and is a little drugged up? I bet you were just wondering what that would look like. You've come to to the right place my Friends!

Lovely.

Okay, so those of you who know me in real life realize that posting this picture was a very unnatural thing to do. I am usually just a touch too concerned about putting my 'best face forward' so to speak. :) I prefer my hair done, makeup on, ill looking bags under my eyes covered up - but I guess sometimes you have to make a choice. Do you want people to think you are cute or feel sorry for you? I'm choosing the latter today.

Feel sorry away folks... :)

Remember my post from Tuesday where I stated that I really didn't feel well? I had been in to see my doctor and was misdiagnosed and put on an antibiotic that I didn't need, while my body was actually dealing with kidney stones. I'm so thankful I had the nudge to go into the ER. The tricky thing is that my "prescription" is to drink more water than I think I can handle and, as I said, my body has not been accepting as much as an ice chip for most of the day. The good news: One stone is taken care of and I have been able to drink water for a few hours now. The bad news: The CAT scan they did in the ER showed several stones in each kidney. Yay. I have a million and one things to do before we head back to my home state for a visit. I have kids who need me. I have responsibilities. K has to be fitted for new ankle/leg braces this week. I'm struggling a bit with the timing of all of this. I am going to be contacting a specialist who I was referred to tomorrow and try to get in before we leave. There is a bit of concern as to why this is happening and we are hoping to get some answers. All of this is going on as we continue to deal with what was evidently a very abnormal pregnancy/miscarriage. The pathology report that was done after my D & C came back a bit perplexing, albeit inconclusive. I have had 7 blood tests following the miscarriage and am scheduled for my 8th. It's just sad when the people in the lab know you right when they look at you, with no need to glance at the paper work. We know all about each others kids and stuff. It wasn't a goal of mine, but hey if this is how God may work through me so be it. :) I'm hardly even feeling the pokes any more. Ah well, between the moments when I have felt yucky I have had some great times as well. One moment at a time right?

OK, first the sympathy, I have passed 2 kidney stones in my life...painful doesn't even begin to describe it! Is there any way you could see a Urologist and have them "laser" them for you? It blasts the little boogers to pieces and helps somewhat. Praise the Lord for the water and ice chips. I will pray that the Lord will be your Balm of Gilead.

Second, I am new to blogging and feel like I am from the "stone" age. Couple that with a few ouch factors in my life, I have "looked" for common bond bloggers. God led me to this one obviously. If you read my post from this morning, you will see we have had the same struggles.

Thank you for your picture of honesty and know there is another who does feel sympathy for you but will take it one step further and will bow her head and say a prayer.

I feel so bad for you. Kidney stones are the worst. (I've heard) I have to say that even without any make-up and no sleep you are so beautiful!

I will be praying for you!

First off...I of course looked at your picture before I read your post and I thought, "Man, she is stinkin' adorable!" Then I read your post, and thought, "What? She was SICK when this was taken?" Seriously, you look so cute. But I am so, so sorry that you have been through all of this! Too much yuckiness...praying it is all over soon. When are you leaving for your visit?

I agree with Sarah. You're looking way too cute to have had all that happen. Your hair doesn't even look bad. It's just not fair. So, you're not getting sympathy because of the way you look, but because of all this junk that's going on. It's just time for it to stop. I'm praying for your healing and wisdom for the doctors with all these tests. Now, you have my sympathy for that.

Oh! Wendi! So sorry for you! How awful! I will continue praying for you!

Thanks for praying for my busy weekend. My post is up to tell you how it went. I'll e-mail with more details tomorrow.

Again, I am sooo sorry!

That sounds painful! I'm so sorry!

You're gonna have to work on your "need sympathy" look, though. That half smile doesn't quite evoke enough. You need to look extremely miserable and depressed . . .

Wow all that and you are still one hot mamma :) seriously!

Besides every photo of you just radiates the beauty, the compassion and the gorgeous soul thats inside, just living everyday for her king - very inspiring girl :)

I do feel sorry for you though, all those kidney stones -yuck. Prayers are coming your way all the way from down under :)

Ouch, ouch, ouch! Drink lots of water to help prevent those kidney stones, and cranberry juice is good to slug down too.

Boy Wendi -

You have been through the wringer little lady - I pray for a speedy recovery!!!!!!!!

I read your comment on my site with such a great amount of gratitude. I was actually going to my site with the actual thought of pulling up my stakes and taking the tent, known as Rise Rise, down and putting it in my messy garage.

Work, home and "Life" has just really pulled me from my blog the last couple weeks. I appreciate that you return to this very mild-mannered site and share your thoughts.

Trust me when I say, boys will be easier.

Please know your words both here and on my little blog touch me immeasurably. Your prayers for my family and my daughter are appreciated beyond description and please know you and yours are in my personal prayers.

Just remember, pray and to not worry. :-)

Blessings,

Matt

Whenever I am sick I call my mom just so that she can make her sympathetic "ooohhhh" noise (somehow it makes me feel a little better!). Well, I am making that noise for you right now! I am so sorry you're feeling so rotten :( Praying for you lots today!!!!

You know, I'd feel a lot more sorry fo ryou, if you didn't look so darn cute! At least your priorities are right - you GOTTA let your peeps know what is up! :) What would we do without news?
And darling, sometimes it is only a moment-at-a-time, forget this day-business.

Hope you feel well soon, and that K's appointment goes smooooooothly. Take care & get help! You need it in times like this - ASK for it!
love ya,
Cathy
